X-Mane Origins: Drewbee Mane

His journey into music began at the age of 13, just before his freshman year of high school. At the time, he was experimenting and not taking it too seriously, but he found himself writing raps and songs purely for enjoyment. It was something he loved to do, even if he didn’t yet recognize its significance.

The turning point came at 17 during his senior year of high school, when his school hosted an art competition that welcomed all forms of creative expression, from paintings and poetry to rap music. To his surprise, he won first place out of the entire school. He still remembers hearing his name announced over the intercom, seeing his rap featured in the yearbook, and receiving a pair of brand new studio Beats. That moment ignited a deeper passion and motivated him to continue writing music.

It wasn’t until the spring semester of his freshman year in college that he began recording in a professional studio environment. Since then, he has remained dedicated to recording and pursuing music, driven by a genuine love for the art form.

THA ANSWERS

Q & A

What does music mean to you?

Music means everything to me. It's life, my reason for being, and my absolute purpose in this world. Music is a powerful tool that allows me to express my thoughts, emotions, and experiences, and through it, I strive to change the world and help others. It's like a personal time machine, a time stamp that lets me remember exactly what I was feeling, where I was, and everything I was going through when I created a particular song. Music captures moments and emotions in a way nothing else can, making it an essential part of who I am.

What message do you try to convey through your music?

To dream big and live life to the fullest because we only have one chance. I encourage my listeners to strive for greatness, constantly challenge themselves, and become the best version of who they can be. It's essential to give back and make the world a better place; if we all do our part, we can create a fascinating, improved world. Never give up, always work hard, and find what you love—then give it everything you've got. Spread peace, love, light, happiness, and follow your heart.

Who or what is your musical inspiration?

My musical inspiration is multifaceted, but at the core, I am my own inspiration. I drive myself to be the best version of me every day, using music as an outlet to transform my past experiences—the good, the bad, and the ugly—into something beautiful, meaningful, and everlasting. I draw from the present and future, leveraging my imagination and natural creativity to craft hits that resonate deeply.

Choose a song of yours that you love and tell us what makes it special.

"Third Day Out" marks a turning point in my career, symbolizing resilience and growth from darkness to recovery, embodying newfound clarity and strength. It’s a testament to my ability to rise from the ashes and embrace a brighter, healthier future.

Describe what your 2nd project "Bee Smooth" means to you.

Creating "Bee Smooth" was a testament to resilience. I dedicated extra hours to fund the project independently. From writing lyrics to marketing efforts, each step was fueled by heart & determination. It's more than an album; it embodies my journey.

Is there anything on your bucket list as an artist that you'd like to share?

As an artist my goal is perpetual growth. I aim to continually challenge myself, striving to surpass previous achievements. I aspire to release at least one album, one EP, and a minimum of 12 singles annually, while embracing the freedom of creation.

What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?

One of the most memorable moments in my career so far has been creating my third project, "Lemon Lime." This project is deeply significant to me because of everything that was happening in my life at the time. The content, material, and subject matter—from the lyrics to the different styles of beats throughout—embody a new evolutionary chapter in my life, not just as an artist but as a man. I wrote the entire project, song for song, during my stay at what was my first experience at an inpatient residential rehab facility. Everything I've been through, everything I've learned from those experiences, and all the tools and knowledge I continue to add to my holistic repertoire of self-healing and self-love are portrayed throughout the project. "Lemon Lime" is more than just a project; "Lemon Lime" is me.
